Re: Letter of Support from City of Calexico
To Economic Development Administration:
608 Heber Ave.

On behalf of the City of Calexico I would like to express our strong supp01t for the Center for Employment Training's (CET) application for funding as a "Backbone Organization" for the American Rescue Plan Act Good Jobs Challenge (ARPA Good Jobs Challenge).

As a mission-aligned and values-driven organization, we believe CET has demonstrated its skills and experience in effectively implementing and administering services that align with our region's Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy to the targeted populations with barriers to employment who have become increasingly vulnerable due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This funding will assist CET in coordinating sectoral pattnerships to offer complete wrap-around services and skills training that reduce unemployment rates by increasing the regional workforce system and creating access points to high-quality in-demand occupations that lead to selfsufficiency.

I am pa1ticularly excited to supp01t CET due to its strong commitment to job training and workforce development and its outreach and recruitment effo1ts encouraging low-income individuals in rural and agricultural sectors to break the generational cycle of pove1ty within their families and acquire quality skills training to embark on a career path.

I look forward to continuing to supp01t CET's vision to create strategic sectorial pattnerships through the ARP A Good Jobs Challenge to increase our workforce, establish effective career pathways, and build community engagement with high-risk target sectors. I appreciate your consideration in CETs application as a Backbone Organization for the ARP A Good Jobs Challenge funding.
