Authorize City Manager to File Notice of Completion for Sewer Main Replacement Project on Designated Streets.
Background:
On March 2, 2020, the City of Calexico Public Works Department requested bids for Sewer Main Replacement Project. The project will consist of replacing the existing 8-inch and 4-inch gravity pipelines, installing and connecting each existing sewer service laterals along the new pipeline alignment. The locations of the sewer main replacement are:
• Paulin Avenue between 7th Street to 10th Street
• Dool Avenue between 5th Street and 7th Street
• Beach Avenue between 5th Street to 7th Street
On May 20, 2020, the City Council of the City of Calexico awarded a construction agreement with A&R Construction in the amount of $1,058,239.16 for Sewer Main Replacement Project on designated streets. Notice to proceed was issued July 15, 2021 .
Due to additional work that was not anticipated during the design phase of said project, the total construction amount of said project is $1 ,225,422.30.
Discussion & Analysis:
On January 20, 2022, A&R Construction completed the Sewer Main Replacement Project, therefore Public Works staff is recommending that the City Council of the City of Calexico authorize the City Manager to file Notice of Completion for said project.
