CAR Commonorating the 100% Inniversary
CALEXICO
of tho Calerica Rotary Club
WHEREAS, Calexico Rotary Club, founded on April 1st, 1922 in Calexico, California, is part of the largest non-profit service organizations; and
WHEREAS, Calexico Rotary is comprised of professional and business leaders that are committed to the advancement of the city; and
WHEREAS, the Rotary motto "Service Above Self" inspires members to provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards, and promote good will and peace in the world; and WHEREAS, the Calexico Rotary Club has collaborated with Rotary clubs in Mexicali, Baja California to establish sustainable projects on both sides of the border, and WHEREAS, the Calexico Rotary successfully completed a project to buy, rebuild and outfit a motorhome as a Mobile Medical Clinic and then donated it to Universidad Autónoma De Baja California (VABC) and remains in use today; and WHEREAS, each year the Calexico Rotary organizes the Cra6 Crack dinner that is attended by many Imperial Valley residents each year to support raising funds for club projects; and WHEREAS, Calexico Rotary continues to serve the community by supporting local organizations and schools activities that need it; and
WHEREAS, the Calexico Rotary Club will continue to support the city by doing more community service and work on projects that benefits the youth and families of our city; and WHEREAS, Calexico Rotary's rich history will continue for generations to come and inspire residents to get involved with their city and promote community pride;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVE that I Javier Moreno, Mayor of the City of Calexico hereby proclaim the month of April 2022 as Rotary month and congratulate the Calexico Rotary Club for a Century of Service and your work on behalf of the community and the world.
