SUBJECT: Consider Establishment of an Ad-Hoc Committee on Grant Writing and Appointment of Two Members of the Council to Serve on the Committee =================== ============== ======
Recommendation:
Consideration by Council to form an ad-hoc committee to address grant needs for the City of Calexico and appointment of two members of the City Council to serve on the committee.
Background:
At the meeting of May 4, 2022, Council Member Ureña requested the establishment of an ad- hoc committee made up of council and community members to address grant available to the City.
Discussion & Analysis:
Council is requested to establish the ad-hoc committee and make appointments of two Council Members to serve on the ad-hoc committee and work together with community members and City staff to review possible grants available for the City. This committee would report to the Council with updates on identified grants.
The City Council may:
1. Approve the establishment of an Ad Hoc Committee.
2. Not approve the establishment of an Ad Hoc Committee.
3. Provide alternative direction.
