Caleadoo High Schod Graduates
WHEREAS the City of Calexico acknowledges its presence on unceded Kumeyaay & Cucapá territory; and WHEREAS The Calexico Unified School District serves a unique border community of students who carry the passion of the sun that blazes over this region and the flavor of our sister city "del otro lado"; and WHEREAS the immigration statues, residencies, and identities of students in this City and region display the same fluidity that characterize this highly mobile, dynamic border region; and WHEREAS California students are blessed to have residency rights to the largest and best public university and community college system (s) in the world independent of their immigration status; and WHEREAS California's public university and community college system are world-renowned accessible to all socioeconomic classes to the best of our imperfect abilities; and WHEREAS the youth are key to describing and understanding the dynamics of a changing world; and WHEREAS the City of Calexico seeks to strengthen its partnerships with the Calexico Unified School District, Heffernan Memorial Healthcare, and the County of Imperial to solve the unique challenges of serving this highly dynamic and mobile border community for the benefit of all; and WHEREAS the City of Calexico counts on the partnership of the State of California in designating the most responsive allocations and funding models to the unique binational social, environmental, educational, health and economic challenges found in California's border regions; and WHEREAS the following students proudly represent a new generation of students who witnessed, documented, and participated by various means in the opening of a new chapter of Calexico municipal governance and Calexico academic achievements; and
WHEREAS the following students champion the socio academic spheres for truth, justice and completeness in the representation of the experiences of the people in their beloved border communities; and THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, I Javier Moreno, Mayor of the City of Calexico proclaim and recognize Karla Hernandez, Ivanna Garibay, Angel Manuel de Dios, Monique Vreña, Camilo Garcia Jr. and Commissioner Carlos Fitch for their achievements, representation and advancement in the academic understanding of our unique border communities represented herein.

Que la Ciudad de Calexico reconoce su presencia en territorios nativos no cedidos Kumiai y Cucapá Que el Distrito Escolar Unificado de Calexico brinda y ejerce los derechos educativos de una comunidad de estudiantes únicos, fronterizos que cargan el ardor del sol de estas tierras en su desempeño y los sabores de nuestra ciudad hermana "del otro lado"
Que los estados migratorios, las residencias e identidades de los estudiantes de esta Ciudad y esta región demuestran la misma fluidez que caracteriza esta región fronteriza altamente móvil y dinámica Que estudiantes californianos son bendecidos de tener derechos residenciales a los sistemas de universidades públicas y colegios comunitarios más amplios de alta gama independientemente de sus estados migratorios Que el sistema universitario y de colegios comunitarios Californianos son lo más accesible posible para estudiantes de todas clases socioeconómicas en nuestras capacidades imperfectas Que la juventud es elemento clave para describir y comprender las dinámicas de un mundo cambiante Que la Ciudad de Calexico busca cementar sus asociaciones con el Distrito Escolar Unificado de Calexico, Distrito de Salud Memorial Heffernan, y el Condado de Imperial para resolver los retos de hacer valer los derechos educativos en nuestra comunidad fronteriza dinámica y altamente móvil en beneficio de todos Que la Ciudad de Calexico cuenta con el apoyo del gobierno estatal de California en diseñar las asignaciones presupu estales y modelos financieros más responsivos a los retos sociales, ambientales, educativos, económicos, y de salud únicos a las regiones fronterizas de California Que los siguientes estudiantes representan una nueva generación de estudiantes que observaron, documentaron y participaron por métodos diversos en la apertura de una nueva era de gobierno municipal en Calexico y una nueva era de logros académicos Calecianos Que los siguientes estudiantes son guerreras/os/es en los círculos socio académicos por la verdad, justicia y completa representación de las diversas experiencias de las gentes en nuestras queridas comunidades fronterizas SE RESUELVE, Yo, Javier Moreno, alcalde del municipio de Calexico formalmente proclama y reconoce a Karla Hernandez, Ivana Garibay, Angel Manuel de Dios, Monique Ureña, Camilo Garcia Ir. y el comisionado Carlos Fitch por sus logros, representación y avances en el entendimiento académico de nuestras comunidades únicas fronterizas representadas aquí.
