SUBJECT: Adopt Budget Amendment Resolution for Fund No. 255 - American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) in the Amount of $500,000.00 for Park Improvements at Border Friendship Park (Genaro "Teco" Monroy), Rodriguez Baseball Field and Community Center Park.

Adopt Budget Amendment Resolution for Fund No. 255 - American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) in the Amount of $500,000.00 for Park Improvements at Border Friendship Park (Genaro "Teco" Monroy), Rodriguez Baseball Field and Community Center Park.
Background:
As of August 25, 2023, the City Council of the City of Calexico has allocated the following ARPA funds to the following Parks:

5 Nosotros Park and Baseball Field Restroom Rehab., Lighting and $500,000

6 Park Improvement - General Emergency Repairs $170,575 Total $1,162,575
Discussion and Analysis:
The City Council of the City of Calexico has identified two (2) parks and one (1) baseball field that require infrastructure improvements:
1. Border Friendship Park (Genaro "Teco" Monroy)
a. Lighting and Restroom Rehabilitation
Estimated Cost $300,000
2. Rodriguez Baseball Field
a. Dugouts, Restroom and Concession Stand Rehabilitation Estimated Cost $150,000
3. Community Center Park.
a. Lighting and Park Amenities (Trash Cans, Picnic Table, Benches, Etc.) estimated Cost $50,000
City staff will be following Ordinance No. 1196 - City of Calexico Purchasing Policy and Procedures for the purchase of materials, equipment and rental services. Any funding not used on the above-mentioned park will be brought back to City Council for consideration of use at other City parks.

BUDGET AMENDMENT RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF CALEXICO AUTHORIZING AN AMENDMENT
CALEXICO TO THE FINAL BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 2023-2024
WHEREAS, the Final Budget for Fiscal Year 2023-2024 was adopted by Resolution No. 2023 - 39 of the City Council on June 22, 2023; and
WHEREAS , the City Council has authorized the amendment of the Final Budget, in accordance with proper governmental accounting and financial reporting practices; and NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Calexico hereby resolves and authorizes the following actions)
