Presentation: Streets and Alleys Project Status Update. -
Background:
The Public Works Department is responsible for providing and maintaining the City's infrastructure, requesting funding for projects, designing and overseeing construction of projects, and coordinates specific comprehensive programs.
Discussion and Analysis:
Alley Improvement Project - Phase I|
Plans and specifications for Alley Improvement Project - Phase Il were completed by Dynamic Consulting Engineers. On March 6, 2024, the City Council of the City of Calexico will consider the approval of bid documents for Alley Improvement Project - Phase II and authorize the Public Works Department to send the project out to bid.
Alley Improvement Project - Phase I!|
Dynamic Consulting Engineers are preparing the plans and specifications for Alley Improvement Project Phase - III. Plans are currently 50% completed.
Scaroni Road Improvement between Cole Boulevard and Jasper Road On February 6, 2024, the Public Works Department issued Task Order No. 2024-001 - Site Assessment, Prepare Plans, Specifications, Cost Estimate and Bid Package for Scaroni Road Improvements between Cole Boulevard and Jasper Road to all five (5) On-Call Engineering firms that were previously approved by City Council on November 17, 2021. On March 6, 2024, the City Council of the City of Calexico will consider authorizing the City Manager to sign Agreement of Professional Services between the City of Calexico and Kimley-Horn in the amount of $38,500.00 for Engineering Services for Scaroni Road Improvements between Cole Boulevard and Jasper Road
Cole Boulevard Improvement between M.L. King Avenue and Bowker Road Plans and specifications have been completed by West & Associates Engineering, Inc. City staff is currently reviewing the plans and specifications and preparing request for proposals (RFP) for construction management, geotechnical and inspection services. Approval for bid documentation is tentatively scheduled for March 20, 2024.
Sidewalk Improvements: Grant Street, Calexico Street and Van de Graaf Plans and specifications have been completed by West & Associates Engineering, Inc. City staff is currently reviewing the plans and specifications and preparing request for proposals (RFP) for construction management, geotechnical and inspection services. Approval for bid documentation is tentatively scheduled for April 3, 2024.
