SUBJECT: National Library Week Proclamation, April 7-13, 2024 ========= ==========================================:

Recommendation:

It is recommended that the City Council of the City of Calexico adopts a proclamation for National Library Week, April 7-13, 2024.

Background:

National Library Week is a time to celebrate the contributions of our nation's libraries and library workers and to promote library use and support. From free access to books and online resources to daily programming and services for the benefit of our community, libraries offer opportunities to all.

Discussion & Analysis:

National Library Week is an annual celebration highlighting the valuable role libraries, librarians, and library workers play in transforming lives and strengthening our communities.

The theme for National Library Week 2024, "Ready, Set, Library!" promotes the idea that in our always-online world, libraries give us a green light to something truly special: a place to connect with others, learn new skills, and focus on what matters most.
