a) Adopt a Resolution of the City Council of the City of Calexico Authorizing the Acting City Manager or His Designee to Endorse the Master Agreement, Fund Agreements, Fund Transfer Agreements and Any Amendments Entitled "Administering Agency - Imperial Irrigation District Tree for All Public Green Space Grant" for Rodriguez Park and Baseball Field.
b) Adopt Budget Amendment Resolution for Fund No. 299-91-914.
Recommendation:
It is recommended that the City Council of the City of Calexico adopt the following two (2) items:
a) Adopt a Resolution of the City Council of the City of Calexico Authorizing the Acting City Manager or His Designee to Endorse the Master Agreement, Fund Agreements, Fund Transfer Agreements and Any Amendments Entitled "Administering Agency - Imperial Irrigation District Tree for All Public Green Space Grant" for Rodriguez Park and Baseball Field.
b) Adopt Budget Amendment Resolution for Fund No. 299-91-914.
Background:
On July 1, 2024, the City of Calexico Public Works Department submitted a grant application in the amount of $35,000.00 to Imperial Irrigation District (IID) under their Tree for All Public Green Space Grant for the installation of trees at Rodriguez Park and Baseball Field. On August 12, 2024, the City was awarded the grant by IID (see Attachment No. 1).
Discussion and Analysis:
To receive the above-mentioned funds, the City of Calexico needs to execute master agreements and/or any necessary documentation to claim the tunds granted. Therefore, the City ot Calexico Public Works Department is requesting City Council authorization to delegate authority to the Acting City Manager or his designee to execute all master agreements and/or any necessary documentation for Imperial Irrigation District Public Green Space Grant for Rodriguez Park and Baseball Field.

Re: Public Green Space Grants Award Notification
Imperial Irrigation District (IID) is pleased to inform you that your agency's Tree for All Public Green Space Grants application for Rodriguez Park and Baseball Field located at APN 058-242-001, Calexico, California has been approved. The proposal demonstrates a nexus between essential community improvement needs and project benefits. It also supports IID's initiatives to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and provide resources for greener communities.
This letter acknowledges the grant total of $35,000.00 awarded to your agency. The grant will be issued by check to the applicant's designee in two payments: 50% funding upon award and 50% funding at project completion. Enclosed with this notification is a grant funding agreement document detailing the grant's funding instructions. A copy of the grant recipient's Form W-9 Request for Taxpayer Identification Number and Certification is also required. IID trusts that this grant will assist the agency in achieving the goals and objectives outlined in your application.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CALEXICO AUTHORIZING
THE ACTING CITY MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNEE TO ENDORSE THE MASTER
AGREEMENT, FUND AGREEMENTS, FUND TRANSFER AGREEMENTS AND ANY AMENDMENTS ENTITLED "ADMINISTERING AGENCY - IMPERIAL IRRIGATION DISTRICT TREE FOR ALL PUBLIC GREEN SPACE GRANT" FOR RODRIGUEZ PARK
AND BASEBALL FIELD
WHEREAS, the City of Calexico is eligible to receive Imperial Irrigation District funding for the installation of trees at Rodriguez Park and Baseball Field; and WHEREAS, Master Agreements, Fund Agreements, Fund Transfer Agreements and any Amendments need to be executed with the Imperial Irrigation District before such funds could be claimed; and
WHEREAS, the City of Calexico wishes to delegate authorization to execute these Agreements and any amendments thereto to the Acting City Manager or his designee be authorized to execute all Master Agreements, Fund Agreements, Fund Transfer Agreements and any amendments thereto with the Imperial Irrigation District.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CALEXICO DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, AND DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
1. The Acting City Manager or his designee is authorized to execute all Master Agreements, Fund Agreements, Fund Transfer Agreements and any amendments thereto with the Imperial Irrigation District for Rodriguez Park and Baseball Field PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 21st of August, 2024.
