SUBJECT: Adopt a Resolution of the City Council of the City of Calexico Declaring Out of Service Electronic Equipment as Surplus and Authorize the Sale or Disposal of the Items

It is recommended that the City Council of the City of Calexico approve the Resolution with the following actions:
Adopt a Resolution of the City Council of the City of Calexico Declaring Out of Service Electronic Equipment as Surplus and Authorize the Sale or Disposal of the Items.
Background:
The Camarena Memorial Library is currently storing several out of service electronic equipment that are no longer operational. It is estimated that the electronic equipment has little commercial resale value.
Discussion and Analysis:
The Library Department Staff is requesting that the City Council of the City of Calexico declare out of service electronic equipment as surplus and allow these items to be sold as is. The out of service equipment is taking up valuable space in storage areas.
Fiscal Impact:
Any proceeds from the sale will be revenue to the General Fund.

Finance Department.

RESOLUTION NO. 2024-_
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CALEXICO,
CALIFORNIA DECLARING OUT OF SERVICE ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT AS SURPLUS AND AUTHORIZE THE SALE OR DISPOSAL OF THE ITEMS.
WHEREAS, the City of Calexico owns the said electronic equipment which are surplus to its needs, and
WHEREAS, the electronic equipment have little dollar value and have served their usefulness and are no longer economically feasible to repair; and
WHEREAS, City staff has communicated with the general public who may have the need for such used electronic equipment; and
WHEREAS, the City Council can authorize the City Manager to dispose of all electronic equipment that are not sold during the public sale; and NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Calexico hereby resolves as follows:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Calexico declares such property to be surplus.
Section 2. The City Council authorizes the City Manager to prepare all required documentation to publicly sale surplus electronic equipment to the general public.
Section 3. The City Council authorizes the City Manager to dispose of all electronic equipment that is not sold during the public sale.
