Recommendation:
Authorize Interim City Manager to Sign and File Notice of Completion for Alley Improvement Project - Phase II.
Background:
On May 8, 2024, the City Council of the City of Calexico awarded the bid proposal from Rove Engineering, Inc. in the amount of $1,087,393.00 and authorized the City Manager to approve any future change orders not-to-exceed $108,739.30 (10% of Rove Engineering, Inc. base bid) as per City Ordinance No. 1218.
On June 10, 2025, the following balancing change order was approved:
Changer Order No. 1
1. The Asphalt Concrete Pavement Tonnage exceeded the estimated $15,845.92 amount. The estimate was 660 tons, and the total tons placed was 764.01. The project exceeded the total asphalt concrete pavement by 104.01 tons. 104.01 tons at $152.35/ton the total amount is $15,845.92
2 Bid Item No. 10, Striping and signage was not on the plans and was ($10,083.00) not installed. There is a credit of $10,083.00

The total construction cost of Alley Improvement Project - Phase Il is $1,093, 155.92. City staff is recommending that the City Council of the City of Calexico authorize the Interim City Manager to sign and file Notice of Completion of said project.
