All Imperial Valley agencies were instructed to submit project listings based on the locally adopted criteria by SCAG. The criteria adopted are as follows:

SCAG will evaluate the projects submitted, rank them and submit their recommendation to California Transportation Commission (CTC) for final adoption and STBG programming.

Discussion and Analysis:

On May 16, 2025, the Public Works Department submitted the following application to SCAG for consideration under STBG:
• Cole Road between SR-98 and Bowker Road Rehabilitation Project The project consists of grinding the existing asphalt pavement and overlaying (ARHM- GG on ARAM over Leveling Course), placement of pavement markings and traffic striping per CAMUTCD, and adjustment of existing utility lids to grade.

One of the requirements that is needed to finalize the application is for City Council to review and adopt a resolution that will support the above-mentioned project if it is awarded. For this reason, City staff is requesting that the City Council adopt a resolution ratifying the submittal of Surface Transportation Block Grant (STBG) application, project milestone dates, and timely use of funds.
