Re: Hollies Affordable Housing Project-801 Imperial Avenue; Calexico, CA 92231 Dear California Department of Housing and Community Development, The City of Calexico applied for the noncompetitive Permanent Local Housing Allocation Grant in the amount of$500,000.00 in order to provide capitalized operating reserves if subsidies are needed for the Hollies Affordable Housing Project located within the City of Calexico. If awarded the funding, the City will allocate S500,000.00 of the non-competitive funds to a capitalized operating reserves account for the COSR/Hollies Affordable Housing Project. The City of Calexico submitted the application for the PLHA Grant on 12/29/2021.
The City anticipates to have a response regarding the PLHA Grant by July 2022. If the funds arc not awarded by the State of California, the Project owners will continue to apply for local, state, and federal funds as they become available, as well as capitalize operating reserves through tax credits- which we feel confident we can secure. If these routes are unsuccessful, the development partners are committing to provide the remaining three years of operating gap funding.
