SUBJECT: Information Updates related to (1) Municipal Insurance/Risk Management Programs, (2) Local Transportation Authority (LTA) Funds and, (3) Heber Park Expansion
Recommendation:
Accept and file report.
Background:
At their meeting of December 3, 2025, the City Council asked for informational updates on the above- subject items. Due to staff deadlines for the submission and publication of the agenda, these various reports will be provided to the City Council with the date of the meeting. Generally, the information reports will provide the following:
1. Discuss the possibility of Calexico transitioning from a self-insured entity to a shared risk model like the California Joint Powers Insurance Authority. Calexico was a member up until about 10 years ago.
Discuss transportation-related improvements using LTA Funds.
Discuss the expansion of Heber Park using the secured State Prop 68 Grant.
