Recommendation:
It is recommended that the City Council of the City of Calexico approve the following:
1. Authorize City Manager to issue Purchase Order to OneSource in the amount of $68,858.03 to purchase LED Light Fixtures and Light Bulbs for Enrique Camarena Memorial Library.
Background:
Enrique Camarena Memorial Library is located at 850 Encinas Avenue and was built in 1985.
Since the construction of the library, the library has gone through minor repairs, for example, rehabilitation of public restrooms, interior and exterior paint, parking lot improvements, etc.
Discussion and Analysis:
The library has approximately 28 original light fixtures and 200 light bulbs that need to be replaced because they are no longer working and/or obsolete that replacement parts are no longer available. In addition, these light fixtures consume more energy which produces a high electrical bill. City staff is recommending that all light fixtures and bulbs be replaced with LED light fixtures for energy efficiency, longevity, and versatility. The LED light fixtures will brighten up the library and be aesthetically pleasing to the eyes while reading a book or participating in the diverse programs that the library offers.
City staff requested price quotes from Imperial Valley vendors and received the following two (2) proposals:

After carefully reviewing the proposals, City staff is recommending that the City Council of the City of Calexico authorize the City Managerto issue purchase order to OneSource in the amount of $68,858.03 to purchase LED light fixtures and light bulbs for Enrique Camarena Memorial Library.
