SUBJECT: Adrian C. Cordova Memorial Park - Temporary Fencing ============ ==-=== ==============
Recommendation:
Accept and file report. Provide staff direction to remove the fencing and install signage to convey the message of a partial closure.
Background:
The City has spent a total of $81,724 to provide temporary fencing at the Adrian C. Cordova Memorial Park from October of 2020 to April of 2026. The fencing surrounds only a portion of the perimeter of the park so the park is accessible to the public. The northern portion of the park is open to the public and used on a regular basis.
Discussion and Analysis:
Temporary fencing is a partial deterrent to prevent use of the southern portion of the park. Staff recommends signage be installed to convey the message of a partial closure. Signage can be installed at a minimal cost by City Staff and resources, and the temporary fencing monthly rental cost will be eliminated.
