Furthermore, all work stipends and associated costs-including workers' compensation, taxes, and related expenses-will be disbursed to participants through the Imperial County Workforce Development Office.

The number of hours allocated to Project Connect Participants is determined by the age group of the youth. Specifically, individuals aged 14-17 are allotted 120 hours, those aged 17-19 receive 240 hours, and those aged 18-24 are granted 360 hours.

Discussion & Analysis:

The City of Calexico has a long history of partnering with other agencies to provide work-readiness opportunities. Participants are exposed to career exploration and acquire work skills that may later open future employment opportunities.
