During communication with plant personnel regarding this project, several needs were identified.

These include selecting a vendor who can:
• Provide rapid deployable equipment with reliable treated water qualities for temporary water treatment during rehabilitation of existing plant equipment.

Veolia Water Technologies is offering mobile UF equipment which will allow City of Calexico redundant treatment to Clarifier B while Clarifier C is shut down for rehabilitation. The Veolia owned equipment can produce up to 1M gallons per day per unil typical clarified water characteristics. The Veolia system proposed includes the following components.
• Mobile UF equipment, using Veolia's popular ZeeWeed membranes, depending on availability of equipment upon order. Equipment will be assigned upon receipt of purchase order.
• 6" to 10" (influent) & 6" lo 14" (effluent) connections based on equipment used.
• Up to 800 gpm max flow per unit.

Below is a summary of expected costs based on a 3 unit scope with a 3 month rental timeline:

Three (3) MPAK80 Ultra Filtration Units: $603,235

1. Equipment Prep Charges: $55,785
a. Three (3) MPAK Units: $55,785 ($18,595 * 3)

2. Service Charges for 3 months: $468,450
a. Three (3) MPAK Units: $328,050 per month ($36,450 " 3 units * 3 months) b. Three (3) Pump Skids: $70,200 per month ($7,800 *3 units * 3 months)

3. Labor ($250/hr): $49,000
a. 40 hrs for installation supervision & startup
b. 40 hrs for equipment commissioning & training
c. 96 hrs (8hrs per week, for 12 weekly visits. (Could be less depending on system usage)
d. 20 hrs for system decommissioning
Freight (Estimating 1500 miles for 3 units): $30,000
Once the City of Calexico places an order, Veolia will assist with interconnecting piping design based on the space requirements and general site needs. A site kick-off meeting will be required before work begins.

2.9 Preservative Chemicals
Prior to shipment, the UF modules are filled with a preservative solution of 50% glycerin that protects the membrane fibers until they are ready for use. After the modules have been installed, this solution must be completely flushed from the modules before production can begin. The flushing procedure will create a byproduct permeate with a high TOC content that is unsuitable for normal discharge into the environment (example: down a draln connected to a municipal sewer system). As a result, when flushing a newly instalied module, direcl all permeate to a suitable container that can then be sent for proper UF membranes thal are to be taken offline for longer than two days must be preserved in order to prevent blological growth within the modules. For storage periods of up to approximately 1 week, filling the modules with water containing sodium hypochlorite at a minimum residual concentration of 1-2 mg/L is adequate (modules have a maximum chlorine tolerance of 1,000 mg/L.). For storage periods longer than 1 week, a residual sodium hypochlorite concentration of 15 mg/L is required.
