COUNCIL AGENDA ITEM
December 14, 2022
PREPARED BY: Dr. Jim Hart, Interim City Manager
SUBJECT: City Manager Recruitment

BACKGROUND/ DISCUSSION
Doug Dunford resigned as City Manager with his last day being September 16, 2022. I was retained by the City Council as the Interim City Manager beginning September 19, 2022. As the City Council is aware, as a CalPers retiree I am restricted to 960 hours of employment in a fiscal year. With the new City Council in place, there needs to be a general discussion regarding going forward with the recruitment.

Fred Wilson with Ralph Andersen and Associates has indicated that due to the short tenure of Doug, that he would conduct the recruitment and would only ask the City to assist with the cost of printing. He estimated that cost to be approximately $2,000.

The Council is being asked to provide direction on how they would like to proceed with the recruitment and provide any direction that the Council would like conveyed to Fred Wilson.

FISCAL IMPACT
Approximately $2,000 in printing costs

COUNCIL OPTIONS
Provide direction to staff

RECOMMENDATION
Provide direction to staff
