With Covid shutdowns over the past couple of years, I was not aware until I received an email today that racing at Calistoga Speedway -- including the popular Louis Vermeil Classic -- may not be returning to the Napa County Fairgrounds. I hope that is not the final decision and that racing will return. I live in Folsom. My friends and I enjoy going to Calistoga for the races, grabbing dinner before the green flag drops and the action starts on the half-mile dirt oval.
I think racing fans from throughout Northern California would agree in a request to please keep that green flag flying and resume the racing action at Calistoga Speedway.
Many thanks,
Ian

Dear County and City Officials,
I am writing to express my hope that a transfer of ownership of the Napa County Fairgrounds will be finalized, thus saving the historic Calistoga Speedway. I understand that much effort and work is ongoing, which is immensely appreciated by the racing enthusiasts nationwide.
Calistoga Speedway is one of only two remaining half-mile dirt tracks in California and has a history that dates back to 1937. That history includes the names of countless race drivers and car owners who became elite figures in auto racing. The annual "Louie Vermeil Classic" honors Calistoga resident Louie Vermeil, the driving force behind Auto Racing at Calistoga Speedway on The Napa County Fairgrounds.
Calistoga and the Napa Valley are rich in history, and I believe the Fairground Speedway is one of the most unique and memorable dirt tracks.
Thank you for allowing me to express my desire to see racing continue at Calistoga Speedway for many years to come.
Regards,

Dear County and City Officials,
I am writing to express my hope that a transfer of ownership of the Napa County Fairgrounds will be finalized., tlius. saving the historic Calistoga Speedway. Calistoga Speedway 1s one of only two remaining half-mile dirt tracks in California and has a history that dates oack to 1937. I am the THIRD generation to still attend races at Calistoga. This rich history includes the names of many race drivers and car owners who became elite drivers going on to Indianapolis Speedway. The annual "Louie Vermeil Classic" honors Calistoga resident Louie Vermeil, the driving force behind Auto Racing at Calistoga Speedway on The Napa County Fairgrounds.
Calistoga and the Napa Valley are rich in history, and I believe the Fairground Speedway is one of the most unique and memorable dirt tracks in USA This track brings a tremendous amount of money to the town of Calistoga between hotel stays, camp ground, dining, and purchases. The potentia1 of this sale is critical to the town of Calistoga. This is a WIN WIN situation for all. 1 don't understand the delay in this transaction?
Come on guys lets get with it!
Thank you for allowing me to express my Views.

Dear Napa County and City of Calistoga Officials,
I wanted to express to you my support and encouragement of your negotiations and efforts to transfer ownership of the Napa County Fairgrounds to the City of Calistoga in hopes that this will allow the preservation and continued operation of the historic and unique Calistoga Speedway.
I am a life time racing fan with a 4 generation family racing history in various forms. I have attended many races at Calistoga Speedway over the last 45 years and the lack of activity over the last couple of years at the track has left a huge void in the sport and in the heart of motorsports fans nationwide and even worldwide with the recent rise of streaming services broadcasting racing. Just a few weeks ago I was watching a race at Western Springs Speedway in New Zealand on Flo Racing and they actually talked about the Calistoga Speedway and their hopes that it would re-open and they would be able watch races their again.
The speedway is one of the most unique and picturesque tracks in this state and country and is truly is one of a kind that would be greatly missed if everyone involved isn't able to come together to save it. I also believe that it provides a significant economic benefit to the city and the local area when large events are held at the track such as the Louis Vermeil Classic, World of Outlaws, USAC/CRA, King of the West/Northern Auto Racing Club, and Flat Track Motorcycle Racing that have a large following of fans and participants creating surges of additional patronage of local lodging, restaurants, wineries, shops and all attractions.
I know many of you may not be race fans, but there are many thousands of people in Northern California and beyond that would miss this track very much if it were to disappear. Please do all you can to come together in agreement and find a way to keep this track going so that those of us that value it don't see it disappear.
Thank you for your Consideration
