Please take a broad view as you consider items for City Manager Snideman’s performance evaluation.

Looking at City management structure in nearby cities, it seems Calistoga’s city management structure is excessive by comparision. Santa Rosa has a population of 178k - they have 3 positions for city management. St Helena is closer in size to Calistoga and has 2 positions for city management. Yes, Calistoga is a ‘full service’ city but that is not a new situation. Considering salary and benefits, Calistoga is paying almost $1m annually for City management, that seems excessive. Please evaluate the efficiency of the city management structure and take that into consideration in the performance review.
