Renovation and Expansion Project
The project site is located within the City of
Camarillo in Ventura County. Specifically, the
site proposed for the project is a 1.7-acre area
located at the southeastern corner of the
intersection of East Ventura Boulevard and
South Glenn Drive. The site includes the existing
Dizdar Park, the former fire station at 2474 East
Ventura Boulevard, and the vacant office
building at 2402 East Ventura Boulevard.
The proposed project involves on site demolition
of the former fire station, demolition of a vacant
office building, and the renovation and
expansion of the existing Dizdar Park. The
renovated park would include a new pergola,
playground, band shell, sitting garden, picnic
area, bathrooms, parking lot, and paved
pathways throughout the 1.7-acre project site.
The project would include removal of the existing fire station asphalt driveway and existing landscape in the southern portion of the project site. An asphalt parking lot would be constructed and would include approximately 20 standard parking spaces.
The City public design review meeting is open to the public and will give the public the opportunity to comment on the design of the project. The project status meeting is not a public hearing. No actions approving or denying the project will be made at this meeting.
