Subject: Camarillo Council on Aging (CCOA) Board Unscheduled Vacancy – Confirm Appointment to the Board
BACKGROUND
Volunteer Advisory Boards are an integral part of local government that offer a way to engage residents in the democratic process, enhance community involvement, and help bring the city and community together by providing a resident’s perspective.
The City recently received notice of an unscheduled vacancy on the Camarillo Council on Aging (CCOA) Board. The City posted the appropriate volunteer recruitment notice for the vacancy and the Citizen Appointment Committee met on October 18, 2023 to review applications.
DISCUSSION
The Citizen Appointment Committee recommends the appointment of Karen Denove to fill an unexpired term, expiring June 2024. Formal appointments need to be made by the City Council, and the term would take effect immediately upon appointment.
FISCAL IMPACT
There is no budget impact as a result of this action.
RECOMMENDATION
Appoint Karen Denove to fill an unscheduled vacancy on the Camarillo Council on Aging to fill the remainder of the term expiring on June 30, 2024.
