PURPOSE
To establish a policy for participation in grant programs.
POLICY
It is in the interest of the City of Camarillo to continually monitor available grants so that the City is aware of the supplemental funding opportunities. Under the City Manager’s authority gGrant programs that have potential benefits to the City and/or department operations shall will be considered for application.
Staff will keep the City Manager informed of all potential grants applicable for City projects and services. The City Manager will seek all grant applications.
The City Manager will inform the City Council of grant applications submitted by the City and seek approval for grants where applicable projects, programs, or services have not already been approved by the City Council through formal approval or adoption; or when required by the application.
City Council approval is required for grant applications that involve an expenditure or commitment of City funds. Application recommendations to Council will include the grant purpose, impact on the City, required City contributions, long term effects of grant commitments, and any conditions or other pertinent information.
The City Council is the final approving authority for accepting all grants. When permitted, draw-downs of grant funds should be incremental.
