NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Camarillo will conduct a public hearing on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at 5:00 p.m., in the Camarillo Library Community Room, 4101 Las Posas Road, Camarillo, 93010, to consider the following:
Second Subsequent MND 2023-4/CPD-226M(5)/CUP-422, Costco Wholesale
On December 5, 2023, the City of Camarillo Planning Commission approved Second Subsequent Mitigated Negative Declaration (MND) 2023-4, a Commercial Planned Development Modification (CPD-226M(5)) and a Conditional Use Permit (CUP-422) for the development of 20 acres into a 163,177-square-foot Costco Wholesale and free -standing fuel facility, located south of U.S. 101, north of West Ventura Boulevard, approximately 980 feet east of Springville Drive and west of Home Depot. CUP-422 was approved for the off -sales of alcoholic beverages within the retail warehouse building. The project was reviewed in accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and the State CEQA guidelines, as well as the City’s environmental guidelines and a Second Subsequent Mitigated Negative Declaration was prepared to address the potential impacts associated with the project.
Two appeals were filed within the 10-day appeal period following the Planning Commission’s approval of the project.
The timely filing of an appeal stays the decisions of the Planning Commission pending the City Council action on the matter. The hearing before the City Council is a de novo hearing where the Council has no obligation to honor the prior decision of the Planning Commission and has the authority to make a different decision . The City Council’s decision is final.

If you challenge the proposed action in court, you may be limited to raising only those issues you or someone else raised at the public hearing described in this notice or in written correspondence delivered to the City Council at or prior to the public hearing.
