Item Number or Subject M. Update to the Camarillo City Council on the Camarillo Airport Position Oppose
Comments Our family is 100% against an expansion of the Camarillo airport and against the proposed increase in flights. There are too many as it is. Our house is in the flight path. We are tired of the noise and pollution. Our oldest child was born a premie with underdeveloped lungs and suffers daily from the air pollution stemming from the planes. Our house rattles when planes fly over it. Reduce instead of increase flights!!!
Stop the urban sprawl! Stop turning the Oxnard Plain into the San Fernando Valley and stop turning the Camarillo airport into the next Van Nuys airport! Camarillo does not need to become the next Van Nuys!!!

Position Support
Comments The Camarillo airport in 2024 and beyond is expected to bring significant economic and educational benefits to the local community. I've been a student pilot at KCMA for over 2 years.

This airport has a rich history for the community, that should be cherished for generations.

The airport serves as a hub for various industries, including aviation, tourism, and logistics. It attracts businesses and visitors, contributing to job creation, increased tax revenue, and overall economic growth. The presence of the airport also supports the development of educational programs and
institutions related to aviation and aerospace. This provides opportunities for students to receive specialized training and education, paving the way for a skilled workforce in the industry.

Additionally, the airport's proximity to educational institutions allows for research collaborations and knowledge sharing, fostering innovation and technological advancements. Overall, the Camarillo airport plays a crucial role in driving economic prosperity and supporting educational endeavors in the region.

The hope is we can work together with the community so
general aviation is beneficial to all.

Item Number or Subject expansion of camarillo airport
Position Oppose
Comments I am against any expansion of the Camarillo airport to accommodate jet plane traffic. Already there is way too much helicopter traffic. There has been a disturbing increase in air traffic noise in our neighborhoods. It is not acceptable. Jets can access the Santa Barbara airport or other already established airports that have been handling that kind of noise and traffic.

Item Number or Subject M. Update to the Camarillo City Council on the Camarillo Airport Position Not Applicable
1 Comments City Council Members,
I have recently learned about the Camarillo Airport ALP Update and Narrative Report, a 234-page study. I request that the City Council consider completing the Noise Study and
Environmental Study before receiving and filing the report, as well as further public outreach and public input sessions regarding the plan. The plan seems complex and challenging to follow. It forecasts a total operations increase of .73% from 2022 to 2024. In contrast, the report relays an increase in jet operations from 7852 to 23,318 in 2024, and turboprop
increases from 3,996 to 25,905. Can these numbers be
explained more clearly? The report notes that shortening the runway 13 feet and narrowing it is costly. However, it also suggests a second runway as a future consideration. Why is a second runway needed if growth is less than 1%? As a last point, the report lists the D-111-2B, a large business jet, as the critical airplane for the airport. What is the rationale for growing the customer base of this clientele at the cost of the quality of life for Ventura County residents? Can these flyers of private jets be serviced by airports where they reside, such as Santa Barbara, Santa Monica, Van Nuys, and others? Let's prioritize the quality of life for our residents and keep Ventura County a safe, clean, and quiet place to live!

Comments It appears that the City Council is prioritizing private jet owners over the noise, emissions, and quality of life impacts on our community health and safety.

Currently jets and turbojets flights are 12,000/yr. The new ALP proprosed will increase this to approximately 49,000/yr. THIS IS A 400% INCREASE!
This is the time for the City Council to
Complete Part 150 noise study
Update emissions and quality of environment
review
In this past year, large corporate, celebrity and fractional ownership jets are opting to utilize Camarillo Airport in greater numbers because of its proximity to Malibu, Calabasas,
Monetcito. There is even advertising Camarillo Airport as 'Full Service Model", enticing use of our airport for private jets This is time for FULL TRANSPERANCY and study of the new ALP for ALL the people of Camarillo as it involves the wonderful City we live in

Comments The noise from turbine engine aircraft has become untenable for many Camarillo residents. The ALP is intended to guide CMA development and use for the next 5-7 years. The ALP forecasts a 60% increase in turbine engine traffic in the next 5 years and a 400% increase in the next 20 years. That will destroy the quality of life in Camarillo. There is currently a noise study in progress, with promises from the VCDoA to study a landing pattern change in the near future. There is no current environmental study for CMA. It is irresponsible and could be very detrimental our residents to submit for a construction grant from the FAA or make any improvements or changes to CMA until our community has more information as to how
those actions would affect our community.
