CITY OF CAMARILLO
COMBINED PUBLIC NOTICE
AVAILABILITY OF DRAFT FY 2024/25 ACTION PLAN
and PUBLIC HEARING
In accordance with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) regulations, the City of Camarillo will release a draft Fiscal Year (FY) 2024/25 Action Plan for a 30-day public review period from March 23, 2024 to April 24, 2024.
The draft FY 2024/25 Action Plan provides a spending strategy for the use of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds to meet the goals of providing decent housing, providing a suitable living environment, and providing expanded economic opportunities for low- and moderate-income persons. Because of the delay in the approval of the federal budget, HUD may not announce the actual allocation of CDBG funds until after the normal public participation plan timeline has elapsed. HUD has given direction in CPD Notice 24-01 for CDBG grantees to develop the FY 2024/25 Action Plan on the normal timeline using estimated allocation amounts, and to include in the Action Plan a contingency plan for the way in which funding will be revised if the allocation is less than or more than the estimated amounts. The City of Camarillo developed this Action Plan with entitlement funds estimated at $332,793. The City also has $82,830 in prior year unallocated funds to allocate to projects in FY 2024/25.
The draft FY 2024/25 Action Plan will be available for public review on the City’s website at www.cityofcamarillo.org/cdbg and at the Community Development Department located at Camarillo City Hall, 601 Carmen Drive.
The Camarillo City Council will conduct a public hearing on Wednesday, April 24, at 5:00 p.m., in the Camarillo Library Community Room located at 4101 Las Posas Road, Camarillo, 93010, to receive public comments on the draft FY 2024/25 Action Plan, and to approve the final document for submission to HUD. All interested persons are encouraged to submit comments on, or before, the April 24, 2024 public hearing. Comments may be submitted by e-mail, fax, or mail, to James Fowler, Senior Planner, Department of Community Development:
