Subject: Treated Water Diversion – North Pleasant Valley Groundwater Desalter (Project No. MC-2023-5) – Adopt a Resolution Approving Final Pay Estimate and Accepting Improvements
BACKGROUND
The operational processes of the North Pleasant Valley Groundwater Desalter have determined the need to periodically divert treated water to the facility drainage system before delivering water to the distribution system. The need to divert treated water can arise when the facility resumes operation after being offline for maintenance. The Treated Water Diversion - Project No. MC-2023-5 (Project) modified existing piping, installed a new flow meter, and constructed sidewalk, driveway, and drainage improvements to provide for the ability to divert treated water when needed.
On November 8, 2023, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 2023-92, finding the Project exempt from review under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to CEQA Article 19 Categorical Exemptions Sections 15301 Class 1, approving the plans and specifications, and proceeding with construction of the project; and awarded a Public Works Contract to Travis Agricultural Construction, Inc. (Travis Ag) for the Project , in the amount of $81,650 with a contingency of $12,500 for a total contract authorization of $94,150.
DISCUSSION
The Project is complete and Contract Pay Estimate No. 2 (Final) (Attachment 1) to Travis Ag in the amount of $4,115.87 is recommended for this project. The total final cost of this contract is $86,492.36.
Staff recommends adopting a Resolution approving the Final Pay Estimate and accepting improvements. The Resolution (Attachment 2) authorizes the Mayor to sign the Notice of Completion (Attachment 3) and directs the City Clerk to record the Notice with the Ventura County Recorder.
