re: The proposal of the Dog Cemetery at the New
Ivy Lawn Mortuary (Daily Drive)
This letter is in regards to the Planning Commission Meeting. Ivy Lawn Cemetery wanting Zone changes, so they build a Dog Cemetery.

The property is approx. 3.169 acres and is also home to the Historical Daily Family Home, that Griffin built. The Mortuary was purchased by Ivy Lawn Cemetery with the main Company in Ventura.
1 personally feel that this is not a place for a dog cemetery next to Wood Ranch and other business's and restaurants, shops. Also close to a large Residential Community of apartments and condo's.

There is a Los Angeles Memorial Pet Cemetery in Calabasas of which services Ventura County and has been in business since 1929 it has a Crematorium and Mausoleum and burial. 1 personally knew of a friend that used their services and they were pleased.

The property is very small for this type of usage. If your pet has to be euthanasia or passes away at home you take it to your Veterinarian they take care of all the needs and understands the process they use qualified — companies and you receive your Pet in about 2 weeks. LFsually cremated in a box or urn. You can keep your pet close to you or do whatever you feel.

Having been thru this horrible process 10 times in my life 1 would choose a Veterinarian and who they trust.

I have to wonder what this companies plans are? Do they go pick up the Pet from the Vet? Or do they cremate the remains at their Ventura location? We have all been to that point in life where we have to say goodbye to our best friend, and going to a your Vets office I feel is much better then going to a "Peoples Funeral Home".

Camarillo and this area of Camarillo is not suited for this type of business and I am glad the Planning Commission voted NO on this. I hope you has Our City Council will also vote NO.

The area and land is not a place for a Pet Cemetery.

I also wanted to add that since this new owner has taken over Ivy Lawn Cemetery the reviews are not great. New rules regarding flowers and NO items is one of them. Please keep that in mind when you vote! Many business's are near this place and I personally feel that zone change would not be in the best of interest for these stores.

Thank You
Nancy Mauthe
