AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CAMARILLO AMENDING SECTION 2.08.040 OF THE CAMARILLO
MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO THE SALARIES OF CITY
COUNCILMEMBERS PURSUANT TO GOVERNMENT CODE
SECTION 36516
SECTION 1:The City Council of the City of Camarillo finds as follows:
A. Government Code section 36516 authorizes the City Council to adopt an ordinance providing for City Council salaries and the manner in which that salary may be increased.
B. At the City Council meeting of June 26, 2024, the City Council discussed and voted 3-2 to direct staff to prepare an ordinance for its consideration to increase City Council salaries by 2% for calendar years 2025 and 2026.
C. The City Council now desires and ordains to adopt an ordinance to implement the salary increase.
SECTION 2: Section 2.08.040 of the Camarillo Municipal Code is amended to read as follows:
“2.080.040. Salaries.
Effective January 1, 2025, the salary for each member of the City Council is $1,588.78 per month.
Effective January 1, 2026, The salary for each member of the City Council is $1,620.56 per month.”
SECTION 4:Ordinance No. 1194 is repealed effective January 1, 2025.
SECTION 5.The City Clerk must certify the adoption of this ordinance and cause the same to be published in the manner prescribed by law.
