RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CAMARILLO, CALIFORNIA, APPOINTING TO CITY
COUNCIL OFFICE KEVIN KILDEE (DISTRICT 3) AND TONY
TREMBLEY (DISTRICT 4) AND CANCELING THE ELECTION
TO BE HELD FOR THESE OFFICES FOR THE NOVEMBER 5,
2024, CONSOLIDATED GENERAL ELECTION PURSUANT
TO CALIFORNIA ELECTIONS CODE SECTION 10229
The City Council of the City of Camarillo resolves as follows:
SECTION 1:The City Council of the City of Camarillo finds and declares as follows:
A. The City of Camarillo has called a General Municipal Election on November 5, 2024, to elect two (2) City Councilmembers; and
B. A nomination period was opened and closed in accordance with the Elections Code and only one candidate each was nominated for offices in District 3 and District 4; and C. As of the close of the nomination period on August 9, 2024, there are not more candidates than City Council offices to be elected at the November 5, 2024, General Municipal Election; and
D. As a result of not more candidates than City Council offices to be elected being nominated, Elections Code Section 10229 allows one of the following courses of action to be taken by the City Council:
1. Appoint to the office the person who has been nominated.
2. Hold the election.
E. A Certificate of Facts was submitted to the City Council and a Notice of the facts pertaining to the November 5, 2024, election was posted and published consistent with Elections Code Section 10229.
SECTION 2:Pursuant to Elections Code Section 10229 the following actions are being taken:
The following persons, being the only two candidates for the offices for which they were nominated, are hereby appointed to those offices as follows:

Kevin Kildee Member of the City Council District 3 2024-2028 Tony Trembley Member of the City Council District 4 2024-2028 SECTION 3:The General Municipal Election scheduled to be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, for the City of Camarillo is hereby canceled and the City Clerk is directed to take all necessary steps to effectuate said cancellation.

SECTION 4:The persons appointed shall qualify and take office and serve exactly as if elected at a municipal election for the office.
SECTION 3:The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this Resolution and enter it into the record of original resolutions.
