Deliverables:
1) Pre-sampling event communication and schedule by phone and/or email. 2) Post-sampling event status/completion summary by email.
Task 2 – Monitoring Devices Procurement and Installation The Consultant shall procure, install, and initiate monitoring devices consisting of a pressure transducer and conductivity probe at 4 wells as described below.
•Procure Monitoring Devices
oThe Consultant shall procure 4 VanEssen Instruments D1272 CTD-Diver data logger or acceptable equivalent, 4 direct read cables, computer interface cable, and any suggested equipment to help data collection and/or prevent corrosion. If an alternate transducer is proposed, provide the transducer model and include justification for the City to consider the product as an alternate.
•Pressure Monitoring Devices
oThe Consultant shall install monitoring devices at 4 wells: 19E1, 19M6, 19B1, 19B2.
Additional well details are presented in Table 1 and Table 2 and are further described in the sections below.
•Program and Initiate Monitoring Devices
oThe Consultant shall program and initiate all monitoring devices to collect water level data at 3- hour intervals. The Consultant shall be responsible for downloading data and reset of monitoring devices (if needed) at the sampling frequency outlined in Task 3. •Monitoring Device Replacement
oUpon discovery of a transducer or conductivity probe failure, the Consultant shall procure, install, program, and initiate a replacement monitoring device no later than the next quarterly monitoring event.
Deliverables:
1) PDF specifications and/or operating manuals for pressure transducers and equipment by email. 2) Transducer installation information, including, equipment make/model/serial numbers, depth of transducer installation, manual groundwater elevation at time of installation, and any other A-1
CC Agreement 2020-162A
information necessary to convert the raw pressure data into depth to water and groundwater elevation.
3) Data collection form for each event outlined in Task 3, Table 2. The form shall include data collection date and time, re-initiation data collection time interval (if reset), and any other pertinent information related to pressure transducer data.
Task 3 – Groundwater Well Sampling Services
A total of 20 wells at 10 distinct locations shall be sampled for this Project at the frequency shown on Table 2. The Consultant shall obtain groundwater samples from these wells using details presented in Table 1 – Well Location Information and Table 2 – Well Sampling Details. Except as noted in Table 3, all groundwater samples collected from these wells shall be delivered to the partner laboratory for sample analyses as shown on Table 3.
Notably, three locations shown on Table 1 consist of triple-nested wells including MW-A (MW-A/1, MW- A/2, and MW-A/3), MW-B (MW-B/1, MW-B/2, and MW-B/3), and MW-C (MW-C/1, MW-C/2, and MW- C/3).
Each of these triple-nested wells are contained in a single well vault. A total of four of these nested well casings (MW-A/2, MW-A/3, MW-B/2, MW-B/3, MW-C/2 and MW-C/3) contain a 2-inch diameter schedule (SCH) 40 polyvinyl chloride (PVC) well casing liner inside a 3-inch diameter SCH 80 well casing to depths shown on Table 2. The Consultant shall take appropriate precautions during pump, tubing, and sampling equipment deployment in these wells to ensure that the liner casings are secure and not damaged during sampling activities.
Additional groundwater sampling details are as follows:
•Prior to each quarterly sampling event, the Consultant shall coordinate with owners of active production wells to ensure pumps are turned off for measurement of static groundwater levels and pumps can be operated to facilitate collection of water quality samples. •The Consultant shall download pressure transducer water level data from 18 wells as described in Task 2. Consultant shall perform maintenance on pressure transducer and conductivity probe as necessary, including, but not limited to, troubleshooting if abnormal data exist and resetting device to maintain adequate memory capacity. Consultant shall monitor transducer battery life status and notify City if transducer replacement is needed. •The Consultant shall measure water levels (i.e., gauge) at 20 wells semi-annually in April and October and 10 wells quarterly in January, April, July and October of each year per Table 2. •After measuring water levels and prior to collecting samples, each well shall be purged to remove water that has been standing within the well screen and casing that may not be chemically representative of formation water. The Consultant shall purge and sample 20 wells semi-annually in April and October of each year and 10 wells quarterly in January, April, July and October of each year per Table 2 (note: City is seeking a waiver of purge requirement for well 35M2). Purge water removed from each will be discharged to an on-site sewer connection, containment, or discharge point provide by the City.
•The Consultant shall conduct groundwater monitoring and sampling in accordance with low-flow (minimal drawdown) groundwater sampling procedures as outlined in EPA publication 540/ S- 95/504.
•Upon completion of groundwater purging at each well, the Consultant shall collect groundwater analytical samples in laboratory provided sample containers for analysis of total dissolved solids, chloride, sulfate, and manganese using the analytical methods shown on Table 3 (note: City is seeking a waiver of purge requirement for well 35M2).
•Filed duplicate samples shall be collected at 10% of total samples during each event. Trip blanks, field blank, or temperature blank are not required for this project.

Estimated purge volumes for these 6 wells are shown on Table 2. The Consultant shall be responsible for storing water and any coordination, lab analysis, or requirements of the selected waste disposal facility. The City will sign waste manifests supplied by the Consultant and waste disposal facility.
