Item Number or Subject H. Traffic Circulation Improvement Plan Update for Allocation of Traffic Impact Mitigation Fees

Comments I'm concerned at the number of "traffic improvement projects" that the city is collecting funds towards that amount to road widening for purposes of improving traffic. None of the lane addition projects will reduce VMT, and amount to prescribing 'loosening your belt' to solve obesity. If we are collecting all these funds to improve traffic, we should implement solutions that reduce VMT, not ones that kick the can down the road as well as increase amount of long term maintenance the city will have to fund in the future (of which the Ventura Boulevard Bridge Replacement project, CIP SD-5052, is an excellent example of these big expansions being costly maintenance items decades later)
