Camarillo City Council

AGENDA REPORT
Date: December 11, 2024
To: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers
From: Greg Ramirez, City Manager
Submitted by: Carrie Weal, Interim City Clerk
Subject: 2025 City Council Committee Assignments, Formation of Information Technology and Facilities Committee and Update to Policy 1.01 City Council Reorganization, Committees, and Appointments

BACKGROUND
Pursuant to Council Policy 1.01, the City Council reorganizes, and the newly appointed Mayor makes recommendations for appointments to the Standing City Council Committees and Outside Organizations.

By State Law, the City Council is permitted to make governmental agency liaison, ad hoc committee, and regional body assignments, as deemed appropriate. Appointments to such committees are essential as they allow for Councilmembers to support local City efforts, as well as advocate and stay updated on regional and national issues.

Additionally, the formation of a new Information Technology and Facilities Committee is proposed, which will play a critical role in prioritizing resources and promoting effective project implementation to support the advancement of City facilities and technology.

City Council Policy 1.01 “City Council Reorganization, Committees, and Appointments” provides the scope of each City Council Committee and will be updated to include this newly formed committee.

DISCUSSION
The City Councilmembers submitted appointment priority lists for consideration and a list of recommended appointments has been prepared for the City Council’s confirmation.
