The Camarillo Train Station Undercrossing Project proposes to construct a new pedestrian undercrossing beneath the railroad tracks for improved accessibility.
Ø Coordinated design effort with Ventura County Transportation Commission (VCTC) and Los Angeles - San Diego – San Luis Obispo Rail Corridor Agency (LOSSAN)
Ø Provides more direct route between east and west platforms Ø Improves access to Old Town Camarillo

Ø Transit & Intercity Rail Capital Program (TIRCP) – $3,445,000 Ø Proposition 1B – $3,445,000
Ø Additional Proposition 1B – $1,300,000
Senate Bill 1 Grant Funding
Ø Solutions for Congested Corridors Program (SB1 SCCP) – $7,920,000
City Contribution – $910,000
Total Funding = $17,020,000
Funding
Ø Design currently under review by Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) Ø $1.6M transferred from Preliminary to Final Design phase Ø Transferring remaining scope and budget to new agreement with RailPros for Final Design phase
Ø SB1 SCCP Funding requires construction funds be obligated by June 30, 2025. VCTC is requesting a 12-month extension to June 30, 2026.
Ø Following official response from UPRR, City staff will present proposed design to Council
Ø VCTC drafting an agreement outlining maintenance responsibilities and limitation of liability
