Subject: Local Appointment Recommendation for Ventura County Area Agency on Aging Advisory Council
BACKGROUND
Volunteer Advisory Boards are an integral part of local government that offer a way to engage residents in the democratic process, enhance community involvement, and help bring the city and community together by providing a resident’s perspective.
The City posted the appropriate volunteer recruitment notices for scheduled and unscheduled vacancies on various City committees and commissions. An appointment needs to be made for the Ventura County Area Agency on Aging (VCAAA).
DISCUSSION
Pursuant to the Camarillo Council on Aging (CCOA) bylaws, the applications for the one vacancy on the Ventura County Area Agency on Aging Advisory Council was forwarded to the CCOA for review. The Council on Aging reviewed the applications and interviewed the applicants.
The Camarillo Council on Aging, at its May 20, 2025, meeting, unanimously recommended the appointment of Susan Voll for a full two-year term expiring in 2027.
FISCAL IMPACT
There is no budget impact as a result of this action.
RECOMMENDATION
Confirm the recommended appointment with an effective date of July 1, 2025.
