Letter with geotechnical data for hazard mitigation funding application (electronic, Adobe Acrobat PDF format).

Task 9 – Preliminary/60% Design Services for Replacement of Reservoir Nos. 1 and 2 The design scope is based on initially preparing preliminary/60% documents for replacing the two reservoirs at the same locations with the volume and types of reservoir construction as documented in this Amendment No. 1. The scope also includes improvements spanning approximately 15 feet outside the reservoirs for new inlet pipelines and reconnecting the outlet pipelines, drain/overflow pipelines, and electrical/ instrumentation equipment. This scope of work does not include any improvements to the existing access roads, slopes, or any other site modifications that extend beyond 15 feet from Reservoir Nos. 1 and 2. The anticipated drawing list for the proposed improvements and the 60% design submittal is provided at the end of this scope of work.

Subtask 9.1 – Review Background Documents: KJ will collect and review available data and record drawings of the Reservoir Nos. 1 and 2 facilities provided by the City.

Subtask 9.2 – Site Visit: Prior to the submittal of the funding application, KJ will conduct one site visit before developing the drawings and specifications. The project manager, civil design lead engineer, and electrical design lead engineer will attend the site visit. The engineering team will consult with the City representatives at the two reservoir sites to coordinate the elements of the facilities for replacement of the two reservoirs.

Subtask 9.3 – Basis of Structural Design and Structural Design Criteria: KJ will develop the design criteria for the replacement reservoirs that will be the basis for preliminary plans and performance based technical specifications for the two reservoirs. The basis of design and design criteria will be documented in a technical memorandum for review and approval before proceeding with the preparation of drawings and technical specifications.

Subtask 9.4 – Preliminary/60% Drawings and Specifications: KJ will develop a limited number of preliminary/60% drawings and provide a preliminary level prestressed concrete reservoir site layout plan and typical reservoir section for each of the replacement Reservoir Nos. 1 and 2 which when combined with a reservoir performance-based technical specification will permit the City to be able to submit the project for sub application funding by CalOES/FEMA/DHS for the design and construction. The reservoir structural design will require bidding constructors to prepare project designs and specifications and to construct the reservoirs according to the design also known as a design-construct project. KJ will develop and provide one (1) performance based technical specification for the reservoirs only so the City will be able to obtain construction bid(s) for the reservoir final design and construction based on the City’s preference for two (2) AWWA D110 circular strand-wound prestressed concrete water
