Partner Organization Funding Request
Executive Summary
Right now, Ventura County is experiencing a humanitarian crisis—one marked by fear, uncertainty, and real hardship for many families, small businesses, and frontline workers. In the face of this challenge, the Ventura County Neighbors Support Coalition and Fund has emerged as a powerful community response. Managed by the Ventura County Community Foundation (VCCF) and guided by a respected coalition of civic, business, nonprofit, education, and faith leaders, the Fund ensures 100% of contributions go directly to urgent needs: food, shelter, rent, transportation, and critical services. This is not about politics: this is about people; this is about our neighbors.

Our Purpose and Priorities:
￿
Immediate Relief for
Families
Essential assistance to
families navigating
displacement or sudden
job loss — including food,
rent, shelter, and supplies.

Support for the
Agricultural Workforce
Protecting the stability
and livelihoods of the
workers who drive our $4
billion agriculture
economy — up to 40,000
jobs at stake.

Keeping Kids in School
With school attendance
dropping, we’re investing
in programs that keep
students engaged and
safeguard critical
educational funding.

Strengthening Community Nonprofits
Many local organizations are
overwhelmed. We are sustaining the
trusted nonprofits serving our
communities at the grassroots level.

Safeguarding our Local Economy
By stabilizing families and supporting
small businesses, we help prevent
broader disruption and preserve long-
term economic health.

Approach and Transparency:

The Coalition and Fund operate with clarity and accountability. The Coalition is made up of all sectors of our County including: the County of Ventura, Cities, K12 and Higher Education ,Economic Development, Chambers of Commerce, Social Support Organizations, small business, Banks and Credit Unions, Philanthropic Foundations and Individuals. A special advisory committee of local leader's stewards fund distribution. It is a nimble, responsive model that addresses immediate needs while reinforcing the broader systems of care in Ventura County. More details about the Neighbors Support Coalition and Fund as well as the grant application are available at vccf.org/neighbors.

Current Grant Requests:

VCCF has received 28 grant requests to date. We have included the two most appropriate grant requests for the City of Camarillo based on Council direction. Below are brief summaries of the requests, including proposed use of proceeds and amounts requested.

Should the City of Camarillo decide to fund $50,000 to help support both the Food Share and Saticoy Food Hub requests, VCCF would like to match your generous contribution so that we can fully fund both requests. Specifically, the City would fund $15,000 for Food Share and $35,000 for Saticoy Food Hub for a total of $50,000. VCCF would propose matching those funds with an additional $13,000 to Food Share and $39,605 to Saticoy Food Hub. Funding from the City of Camarillo and VCCF would cover both local organizations’ maximum requests.
