Comments I will be burning as many flags as I can find in response to Trumps executive order trying to take away my free speech. I am disabled. I will be non violently burning American flags as protest to the lack of accessibility under the city of Camarillo.
This is in direct response to your unamerican assertion the city cannot tell builders to include accessibility at the point of construction. Instead willfully allowing the burden to fall on the poor and weak at the point they want access which if you’re not completely stupid, you will realize is too late. Comments Over a year ago I called asking for help from the city, documenting and taking meaningful action for the disabled.
Your staff passed me around from one department to another without providing assistance. This is the time period I was simply provided phone numbers to other departments where I left messages asking for help and resources and got nowhere.
YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE THE FIRST SOURCE OF
ASSISTANCE AT THE LOCAL LEVEL. None of the resources
provided returned a phone call. This took 6 months of me calling. This is the first time David Sanchez told me the city can do nothing to get involved. You literally should have sent a city inspector to see if anything meaningful could be documented or submitted on my behalf. This is what my tax dollars should have provided. Instead I got nothing. The law you now say stands between you and helping was only passed a few months ago. Not only did you never lift a finger to help but you made it seem as though your hands are tied. Now after the fact, David Sanchez leaned fully into the new law as sole reason the city 1 can’t help. See the problem? Shifting reasoning and zero assistance provided from the local governing body. Do you think this could be lawsuit worthy? Maybe it’s not but maybe in discovery we can uncover lack of support for local needs and dismissal by staff without providing reasonable or meaningful assistance. I then can ask you at every future meeting why you let this happen to a vulnerable resident in this community.
