NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Camarillo City Council will conduct a public hearing on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at 5:00 p.m., or soon thereafter in the Council Chambers, at 601 Carmen Drive, Camarillo, California, on the following agenda item:
Introduction of an Ordinance Adopting the 2025 Revised Building Codes by Reference and Setting a Public Hearing on Adoption of Such Ordinance for
November 12, 2025 (Gov. Code § 50022.3)
The City Council will consider adoption of an ordinance adopting by reference (1) California Building Code, Volumes 1 & 2, 2025 Edition; with Appendices C, I, and J; (2) California Electrical Code, 2025 Edition; (3) California Plumbing Code, 2025 Edition, with Appendix H; (4) California Mechanical Code, 2025 Edition; (5) International Property Maintenance Code, 2024 Edition; (6) California Administrative Code, 2025 Edition; (7) California Energy Code, 2025 Edition; (8) California Reference Standards, 2025 Edition; (9) California Existing Building Code, 2025 Edition; (10) California Residential Code, 2025 Edition, with Appendices H; (11) California Green Building Standards Code, 2025 Edition; (12) California Wildland- Urban Interface Code, 2025 Edition; together with local amendments to the referenced codes. The Ordinance will take effect January 1, 2026, or 30 days after adoption if adopted less than 30 days before January 1, 2026.
City staff has determined, in accordance with Section 15061(b)(3) of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines, that the proposed Ordinance is not subject to CEQA review because it can be seen with certainty that there is no possibility that the subject regulations may have a significant effect on the environment, either directly or indirectly and this activity is exempt from further review.
The City Council is requested to review the proposed Ordinance adopting the 2025 revised building codes by reference, together with amendments, open a public hearing, accept public input, and formulate a decision.
The City Council may make recommendations or other adjustments deemed to be appropriate. Any person interested in this matter is invited to attend and provide comments on the proposed action. If you challenge the proposed action in court, you may be limited to raising only those issues raised at the meeting verbally or in writing.

Comments received by 3:00 p.m. on October 22, 2025, will be distributed to all Council/Board Members prior to the meeting. Written comments received after 3:00 p.m. will be distributed after the meeting.
