Subject: North Pleasant Valley Groundwater Desalter – Detention Basin Improvements (Project No. WT-11-01) – Adopt a Resolution Exonerating Warranty Securities
BACKGROUND
On September 11, 2024, the City Council accepted the public improvements and warranty securities for North Pleasant Valley Groundwater Desalter – Detention Basin Improvements - Project No. WT-11-01 (Project). Work performed by the contractor, Sam Hill & Sons, Inc. (Sam Hill), at the City of Camarillo’s groundwater desalter facility located in the northeastern portion of the City near the intersection of Las Posas Road and Lewis Road consisted of retrofitting the existing stormwater basin to include a biofiltration device, piping, pumps, electrical, fencing, grading, and irrigation improvements. The Project installed a modular filter system and associated appurtenances to treat the stormwater to comply with applicable NPDES permit discharge regulations and requirements.
On December 13, 2023, the City Council adopted a resolution finding the Project exempt from review under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to CEQA Guideline 15301 Class 1.
DISCUSSION
US Specialty Insurance Company Performance/Payment Bonds No. 1000814688 in the amount of $692,618 with increase rider, rider increases the bonds amount from $692,618 to $761,670.53, have been held for the required maintenance period and may be exonerated.
FISCAL IMPACT
There is no budget impact as a result of this action.
