Camarillo Board of Library Trustees

AGENDA REPORT
Date: March 25, 2026
To: Honorable President and Trustees
From: Greg Ramirez, City Manager
Submitted by: Mandy Nasr, Library Director
Subject: Library Activity Updates – Receive and File

BACKGROUND
Staff provides the Library Board of Trustees monthly updates on activities at the Camarillo Public Library.

DISCUSSION
A Library & RFBC Activity Report for February is included as Attachment 1, featuring Library Highlights, Professional Development, Literacy/ESL and updates on the Russell Fischer Business Collection (RFBC).

Every Story Counts is a California State Library initiative that asks Californians across the state why and how they use their public libraries. From January 25–31, 2026, Camarillo Public Library participated in this initiative along with 98 other library jurisdictions. In that week, the library marketed the State Library’s Every Story Counts survey to patrons through their website, social media channels, email distribution and public desk stations.

The library received 279 responses and learned that an overwhelming majority of patrons feel welcome in the space and plan to return. Patrons also enjoy the collection and appreciate library programs. In addition, patrons acknowledged that they trust information from the library. The State Library received a total of 16,815 survey responses and will complete the statewide results into a summary report later this year.

Additional activities and programs planned for March are listed in the April Camarillo Library Newsletter, included herein as Attachment 2.
