Comments Dear Mayor and Council,
I appreciate the Council's public process and staff work to identify the data on RSOs in Ventura County. We support the City of Camarillo implementing a Mobilehome Land Rent
Stabilization Ordinance.
As the staff report cited, "Camarillo rental mobilehome parks have higher rents than other parks countywide, with the partial exception of Casa Del Norte, which is still higher than most other parks ... The RSO balances a park owner's right to a fair rate of return as required under state law along with working to stabilize rent for park residents".
It's time for Camarillo to join with other cities in Ventura County in implementing a fair process to control Mobilehome Park rental increases. Many families, particularly those on fixed incomes, are struggling to meet the rapidly rising costs of living, the City's RSO can provide a little relief by establishing a clear and fairer process for mobilehome owners.
We ask Mayor Tennessen and all City Councilmembers to
support the implementation of the Mobilehome Land Rent
Stabilization Ordinance.
