Comments Hello City Council of Camarillo,
My name is Zusset Marroquin and I live in Lamplighter
Camarillo. I am writing again to support the Mobile Home Ordinance so we can have a fair position as residents of the City of Camarillo and have the opportunity and ability to keep living in this beautiful and safe community for our families to keep growing and developing. Having a fair yearly increase for residents and a vacancy control that doesn’t go over 6% is crucial for our Mobile Home Owners community.
We came to you asking for help and need your assistance and support in making it possible for us to keep our equity and not have to worry about where else we can go live if land rentals go out of control. IPG already got away and has taken advantage with abusive increases and lease agreements that are
unscrupulous up to this day because there’s been No
regulations in the city of Camarillo and they know it.
As buyers going hopeful into homeownership, we not always 1 know everything that these agreements will impact in the long term, but now that we are in the midst of it, we see the real issue and what they actually have done.
Though we are thankful we were able to purchase and are homeowners, we also see that if the rents keep scalating at this rate we will be forced to leave and loose a great part of not all the equity we could have had. We have are in a very different position than any regular homeowner not having ownership of the land.
Also most people have a mortgage on top of the land rentals.
That payment put together, is almost the same as a mortgage for a home with land. You talk about the ROI for this company, well, I ask you, Council Members, what about the ROI for the residents of the City of Camarillo, where is our ROI if we are being charged with Ridiculous Rent increases yearly and if we try to sell IPG already sent a letter saying they will increase to whatever they want starting June 1st 2026. We are local Investors, IPG is an out of state company that is taking advantage of your people, your neighbors, your tax payers and your voters.
I hope you take all this into consideration, we came to you asking for your help so you can see the injustice and protect your constituents from predatory business practices, we hope you can be Fair and Equitable. We are in a race against time now. Please help us Protect our Investments.
