Item Number or Subject Mobilhome Land Rent Stabilization Ordinance Position Support
Comments I am a homeowner and resident in Camarillo and urge you to approve the Mobilehome Land Rent Stabilization Ordinance with vacancy control included.
Vacancy control is essential for the ordinance to be effective.
Without it, space rents can spike upon sale, discouraging buyers and lowering home values. As noted in the March 25, 2026 staff report (Item P), our park’s rents already exceed the county average, and unchecked increases will continue to erode homeowner equity.
Including vacancy control helps keep rents stable, supports fair resale values, and protects the long-term investments residents have made in their homes. Without it, rent stabilization falls short of its intended purpose.
