Comments Good evening Mayor and City Council,
As of April 20th at 11:00 a.m., the total number of reported abductions in the 805 region has reached 1,879. Of those, 905 are in Ventura County, and 476 are here in Camarillo. These are not just numbers, they represent real people, real families, and a growing concern in our community that deserves your attention and accountability.

I also attended part of your last City Council meeting, and I want to speak to something that stood out to me
.

The meeting began with a presentation from 211, where you were shown the reality of what Camarillo residents are facing.

You heard directly that the most common calls for assistance are related to housing, people struggling to stay in their homes, people on the brink of losing stability.
1 Immediately following that, during public comment, residents spoke with urgency and fear about rising rents in mobile home communities. They shared that they are at risk of losing their homes, that some feel they may have no choice but to walk away with nowhere to go.

And yet, when it came time for council comments and
questions, much of the discussion seemed focused on the concerns of landowners and their investments.

That contrast, the data you were given, the lived experiences you heard, and the direction of the council’s response, was striking.

Because you are not being asked to imagine a crisis. You are being shown one in real time.

Housing instability is already the most common crisis affecting your constituents. And you are being presented with an
opportunity, through policy, through ordinance, through your vote, to take meaningful action that could prevent even more Camarillo residents from falling into that crisis.

So I urge you: align your decisions with what your community is telling you. Listen not just to data, but to the people behind it.

Thank you.
