Comments Mayor Tennessen, Vice Mayor Dr. Martinez-Bravo, Councilmember Kildee, Councilmember Santangelo,
Councilmember Trembley,
I hope you all know that there's been significant usage of AI in creating at least some of the City's Action Plans regarding the City's physical parts such as Old Town, because I actually remember one of the people who worked on I think either this proposed Camarillo Old Town Strategic Action Plan or another one of the City's recent Action Plans outright telling me and the rest of the group he was talking to about it (it was at either one of the community meetings about the Old Town Strategic Plan that was at Studio Channel Islands or during one for the sessions for this year's Las Personas Community Academy that I attended) that he had AI do much of the work of making specific plans using the community input he fed to this AI. 1 AI, which basically runs and predicts its answers to prompts by going off patterns it's noticed in the human-made material it's scraped to train itself, is not remotely close to perfect technology, nor is it any sort of true or proper replacement for actual human critical thinking that can actually utilize something like education and training in things like urban planning to make informed, careful, thoughtful, safe use of things like community input for something like a Camarillo Old Town Strategic Action Plan.

I am very concerned at the likelihood that this Strategic Action Plan did not have a human go through it prior to publication to fix any mistakes the AI made in proposing an actually doable and safe plan, and I am honestly quite disappointed and appalled that the City seems to have never acknowledged the generous helping hand AI had in it in any of its text or printed materials about it.

Do better.

Old Town and the rest of Camarillo needs and highly deserves it.

Sincerely,
Spencer Richey
Highly Concerned Lifelong Camarilaan
