Comments Mayor Tennessen, Vice Mayor Dr. Martinez-Bravo, Councilmember Santangelo, Councilmember Trembley,
Councilmember Kildee,
First off I want to thank from the very bottom of my heart both Vice Mayor Dr. Martinez-Bravo and Councilmember Santangelo for their beautiful work on the Mobilehome Land Rent
Stablization ordinance you two introduced last meeting, in this I am quite proud to have you in my City Council, and I also immensely apologize to both of you for lumping you in with the 3 City Council members (Mayor Tennessen, Councilmember
Trembley, Councilmember Kildee) who didn't want the City to adopt your proposed ordinance last time even though you also worked with the mobile home park owners to make a
mobilehome land rent stabilization ordinance that would be agreeable enough to everyone.
1 And to Mayor Tennessen, Councilmember Trembley, and
Councilmember Kildee I demand you actually both allow a vote on and vote YES on Vice Mayor Dr. Martinez-Bravo's and
Councilmember Santangelo's updated proposed Mobilehome
Land Rent Stabilization that is, again, updated to be even fairer towards the mobile home park owners than the previous one was specifically because you three shot down even voting on the one proposed last meeting due to it not apparently not being fair enough towards the mobile home park owners.
Really, you do genuinely owe it to us, your constituents, and all of OUR beautiful shared city of Camarillo to deliver SOME sort of effective mercy, even in a more measured Camarillo
conservatism-palatable form instead of something major (and direly needed) form like rent control or whatever Santa Barbara has for much of its housing now, from land owners' greed to these people, Camarillo's mobile home park residents, who as the working class | lower-income classes are our city's historical heartbeat (as much as many people would instead like to insist our city's historical heartbeat was major landowners like the Camarillos, in reality they were just a minority of Camarillans, especially as the city started growing in the 1950s due to the modern 101 making it possible for regular working veterans, etc. to relocate their families out here while still holding jobs in the employment center of Los Angeles) who absolutely deserve and need to be able to stay here in the city they've managed to make their home fair and square by paying rent and mortgages to live in our city's mobile home parks, out city's last refuge from gentrification.
As your taxpaying constituent and a lifelong Camarillan I demand you vote YES on this updated proposed Mobilehome Land Rent Stablization ordinance tonight.
Sincerely,
Spencer Richey
Highly Concerned Taxpaying Lifelong Camarillan
