Comments As of 05/11/2026, the latest abduction numbers in our region are as follows:
805 area code: 1,941
Ventura County: 931
Camarillo: 483
I believe it is important to continue placing these numbers on the public record every opportunity we have, so that both this council and the community understand this issue has not gone away. Despite residents coming before this council consistently since last summer, Camarillo remains the ONLY city in all of Ventura County to NOT take any form of action on this issue.

Another dark and important figure that must remain on the record is the number of people who have died in ICE custody this year. Eighteen people have died in ICE custody in 2026 alone, and we are only in the fifth month of the year.
1 According to what LA Taco refers to as their “death tracker,” as of today, 05/13/2026, there have been 64 deaths linked to immigration enforcement since the raids began in 2025. That includes the death of Jaime Alanis Garcia here in Camarillo.

I urge this council to address these issues publicly, remain transparent with residents, and pursue every lawful avenue available to protect the safety, dignity, and constitutional rights of the people who live here.
