Hi City of Camarillo staff,
My name is Natalie Dias and I'm an 11th grader at San Mateo High School in San Mateo, CA.
I'm voicing my support for Camarillo's fossil phase out resolution because your council's commitment to reducing emissions and cutting off fossil fuels will have resounding impacts reaching my city. Many of my friends struggle with asthma, and one even had their home burned down in the LA wildfires last year. My community is at the risk of being submerged underwater because increased greenhouse gases are eating away at ice caps and causing fast sea level rise. I'm terrified of what I see happening every day, and it comforts me to see that your city is considering a measure to not only reaffirm your support in protecting your community but also setting an example for other cities like mine. I really hope you vote with the interests of youth in supporting this resolution.
